About the Show
Big Kev heard of podcasting and how easy it was from Dan. Big Kev went and started podcasting using a free service on the webz. Dan suggested buying a domain and having complete control. Big Kev spent money and bought bigkev.us because .com was taken (bastards).
Off and on back in 2008 Dan, Murph, and Emily joined Big Kev in creating podcasts which were heavily into reviewing news stories and general pop culture. There were other guests from time to time, but those were the meat of the first season. After some success with a 3-day per week setup, things slowed and there was eventually a long-term hiatus.
During the hiatus, Dan badgered Big Kev relentlessly about restarting the podcast. Dan did much whining and complaining and begging of Kev’s (at that time) new wife J-me, and slowly we relaunched a once per week podcast. This time around, we wrangled Big Kev, Murph, Rob, Hooch, J-me, and Dan. Emily still makes spot appearances, however she does not have the time to commit to being a regular. Recently (2011) we lost Hooch and gained Tethered Heather. While the Hooch departure was tough, Heather brought a breath of fresh air and some more female commentary into the show.
2012 has seen the return of Hooch as his schedule allows and a few guest spots from others. The audio has undergone some transition as we are now using a small mixing board and real microphones. The upgrades will continue as time allows.
That is the heavily-abridged version (via Dan) of the history surrounding Big Kev’s View.
